The podiatry diabetes service works with people who have diabetes to maintain their foot health.
The foot care needs vary from individual to individual. You might only need an annual foot screening check in your GP practice or at a podiatry clinic.
However, if we think you have a health risk with your feet, you will be referred to the community podiatry service for regular foot care.
Our services
The diabetes foot team treat acute foot problems such as:
- Ulceration
- Infection
- Suspected osteomyelitis (bone infection).
Hospital treatment
If you are admitted to hospital, we will manage any existing foot disease you have. In addition to this, we will also help prevent new foot disease.
We will complete a diabetes care plan. If any concerns about your feet are highlighted, you will be referred to the inpatient podiatry team.
