What is Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Pulmonary rehabilitation is an exercise and education programme for patients with long term respiratory problems. Our physiotherapists work closely with the respiratory consultants.
We assess each patient individually, this allows us to make sure your exercises are correctly suited to your needs.
We work with patients with a variety of respiratory conditions including but not limited to;
- COPD
- Interstitial lung disease
- Bronchiectasis
- Asthma
Benefits of Pulmonary Rehabilitation
The benefits of pulmonary rehabilitation are widely known and used in combination with other treatments it is proven to improve quality of life. Previous patients have said it has helped them with:

- Improving understanding of your lung condition
- Learning from lots of different health professionals
- Helping you reduce breathlessness
- Improve your exercise tolerance and fitness levels
This service is available at the Freeman Hospital, Royal Victoria Infirmary and Kenton Park Sports Centre.
