As one of the top units in the UK, the centre provides expert personal care for orthopaedic disorders in adults and children, including injuries to muscles, tendons, joints and bones.
Providing a range of elective surgery, including hip, knee, ankle and elbow joint replacement the centre has an international reputation for ground-breaking work with complex conditions including spinal spinal stenosis and bone tumours.
As a major trauma centre for the North East, the team also provide an Orthopaedic Trauma Service at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, where they assess and treat any serious orthopaedic injuries.
