Maternity Voices Partnership (MVP) is an NHS working group: a team of women and their families, commissioners, midwives, doctors and health care professionals working together to review and contribute to the development of local maternity care.
The Newcastle Maternity Voices Partnership is for women who have recently, or are about to give birth at the Royal Victoria Infirmary. They work with our midwives and senior leaders to develop maternity services in Newcastle.
Getting involved with the MVP is a way of engaging with other pregnant women and service users as well as a great forum for sharing feedback about what we’re doing well and areas for improvement to make maternity care in Newcastle even better.
The MVP have regular meetings to discuss current issues, share information and gather feedback. An agenda will be circulated prior to each meeting for your consideration and any additions. Minutes will then be circulated after the meeting.
The MVP is a really great way for your voice to be heard. We have a closed Facebook group where service users have a safe space to support each other and share feedback.
Each Trust around the country has their own MVP. If you would like to know more about MVPs, you can click here for further information.
Do I have to join to ask a question or get help from the MVP?
No, you don’t have to join if you don’t want to. The Facebook group is a great way of getting in touch but you can also email them and follow them on Twitter.
