Intrapartum refers to the period of time from when labour starts to the birth of your baby. It also includes the first few hours after. If you are having an planned caesarean section, this refers to the day of your surgery.
We offer different options when it comes to choosing where to give birth. At home, the delivery suite at the Royal Victoria Infirmary or Newcastle Birthing Centre at the RVI. Our maternity team can make a recommendation to help you choose where to give birth.
