I have been referred to your service, what happens next?
Once a doctor has assessed your referral, you may be asked to come to the Freeman Hospital for an initial assessment appointment.
At this appointment you will meet some of the TPIAT team, including the surgeon and clinical nurse specialist.
This appointment is an opportunity to discuss:
- The cause of your pancreatitis
- How pancreatitis has affected you and impacted on your quality of life
- The treatment and investigations you have received to date
- The medications you currently take.
There will be the opportunity to ask any questions, and we will discuss and explain what TPIAT is in more detail and whether you would be suitable to begin the multi-disciplinary assessment for the procedure.
The patient information booklet provides more information on what happens following this appointment.
