Westgate Building
We are based on the Campus for Ageing and Vitality (CAV) site in the Westgate Building – Westgate Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 6BE.
The Westgate Building which is on the southern edge of the CAV site. The building has signs for Westgate Building, but you can also look out for signs for NECTAR or Newcastle Breast Screening Service on the end of the building.
The building is accessed from the side that faces Westgate Road and there is a bright blue door with a buzzer on the left side of the door. If you press the buzzer then you will be asked what service you are attending and the door will be released. There is a ramp up to the blue door so the site is wheelchair accessible.
The gynaecology department is based on the left and you will see the waiting room and receptionist on the left as you walk up the corridor.
Getting to CAV by car
The site is accessed from Nuns Moor Road/Studley Terrace or Westgate Road (A186).
If you enter via Westgate Road then car parking is available on the left opposite the Cataract Centre along Loverose Lane. Parking can be paid for through pay and display, or with an app on your mobile phone. You will see Westgate Building from the car park and you will need to walk along the edge of the grassy area to reach it.
If you enter via Nuns Moor Road/Studley Terrace you need to drive up along the one way system past the Hadrian Clinic and the unused hospital buildings and you will see Westgate Building as the very last building on the right before you reach the traffic lights. Turn left before these traffic lights to remain on campus and you will reach Loverose Lane, turn left again to find the car park and Westgate Building as above.
