Our Children’s urology and stoma care service provides care, support and education for children with bladder and bowel dysfunction.
We have an experienced team of specialist nurses, paediatric doctors and surgeons.
Together, we cover the entire northern region – from the Scottish border to Teesside and across to Cumbria. We also care for patients who live outside of the region.
Support
We will provide you with pre-operative information and can do this either at home or in hospital. This will help you to make informed decisions about your child’s treatment. This is important if your child is having complex surgery.
The Specialist Nurses can support children and their families in hospital and at home in carrying out treatment for bladder and bowel management.
Our specialist nurses support and educate other healthcare professionals involved in the care of our patients. This can include training staff at schools and nurseries attended by our patients.
