What is skin camouflage?
Skin camouflage represents a quick, inexpensive, non-invasive treatment which helps to lessen the impact of most conditions that affect appearance. The conditions can be accidental, dermatological, surgical or congenital. This is an approach which provides a self-management option.
How do camouflage creams work?
Camouflage creams are non-irritant and lightweight providing good coverage and durability. The products contain titanium oxide making them opaque and able to effectively camouflage different conditions affecting the face and body. Their consistency and pigment level is such that a little goes a long way. Camouflage creams are waterproof and smear proof when applied correctly. However they are not rub proof.
Who can use camouflage?
Camouflage is suitable for men, women and children (over 5 years old).
Caution
Never use on open skin lesions, unhealed scar tissue or undiagnosed skin conditions
Can I use sunscreen with camouflage products?
The creams do contain small amounts of sun protection. Sunscreens should be used under camouflage products and should be applied 15-30 minutes prior to their application. Use a high factor, broad spectrum sunscreen, preferably waterproof. If staying in the sun the camouflage cream will need to be removed and reapplied after more sunscreen.
How can skin camouflage be applied?
Skin Camouflage can be applied using fingers, Sponges or Brushes. At your appointment a skin camouflage Nurse will work with you to find the most suitable method of application.
How can I remove camouflage?
It is advisable to remove the creams with an oil based cleanser/product
