What is it?
Your skin problem has been treated with Liquid Nitrogen. This is a very cold substance which when applied to the skin usually produces a blister, similar to a burn.
What should I do next?
You may experience some pain which should be easily controlled with simple pain relieving drugs, e.g. paracetamol. There may be some swelling and redness at the site of treatment- this is a normal immediate response to freezing the skin and usually settles after two to three days. For a short while the treated area may ooze a little watery fluid.
There is no need to cover the treated areas if the blisters remain intact. If they become large and tense, they may be pricked using a sterile needle and a simple dry dressing applied.
Do not apply cream or ointment of any description, unless you have been advised by the Dermatologist.
Treatment may need to be repeated after the inflammation has settled.
