The hearing Therapy service provides information, advice and counselling to help individuals to make the most of their hearing and improve the quality of their lives.
What does Hearing therapy include?
Tinnitus management – reducing the impact of noises in the ears or head
Hyperacusis – help to reduce oversensitivity to normal everyday sounds
Auditory Processing Disorder – if your hearing is within normal range but you have difficulty understanding what people are saying
Auditory training and communication strategies – making the most of the hearing you have
Assistive listening devices – advice on devices that can help your hearing ability
Referral to local and national groups – signposting to RNID, Hearing Dogs for deaf people etc.
How do I access this service?
Your ENT consultant or Audiologist can refer you to the hearing therapy services.
