National child measurement programme (NCMP) offer is not compulsory. Both parents and children do have the option to opt out. Before the programme starts each year, the local authority will write to parents and carers of children to give them more information. This is for children in reception class and year 6.

Single point of access
You have open access to the health visiting service by calling the Single Point of Access if you need support or guidance.
Monday to Friday 8.30am-4pm.
Our school health teams work closely with schools to make sure that the process is confidential for the children. Only the school health team are able to see the height and weight recorded.
We are aware that this is a sensitive issue for some children. We make sure that there is no pressure to have a height or weight recorded. The National child measurement programme (NCMP) is never shared with other children or the teachers by the school health team.
Once children have been weighed and measured parents/carers will receive a letter. This will detail where their child sits on the growth chart.
