What is a psychologist?
- A psychologist is a person who talks to children and their families.
- You pronounce it like this: SY + KOL + UH + JIST.
- The psychologists here are called Jenny and Nick.
How can they help me?

- It is normal to feel sad, scared or worried when having a transplant.
- Anyone, no matter how old they are, can feel this way.
- It is also normal to feel ok about a transplant.

What do they do?
- They try to talk to all the children that come to hospital for a transplant.
- They talk to their families too.
What do they talk about?
- Medical doctors talk about medicines and treatments. Psychologists talk about emotions.
- They can talk about how you are feeling/your emotions before your transplant.
- They can help you during your transplant when you are in hospital.
- They can come and visit you in hospital.
- They can also help you after your transplant.
