Newcastle Hospitals is making some temporary changes to its urgent treatment centres to ensure patients are best looked after over the winter months.
Due to ongoing staffing pressures across the wider healthcare system, Westgate Road Urgent Treatment Centre will not be offering a walk-in service from Monday (29 November 2021).
However people can continue to use the next nearest centre in Ponteland Road, which is open 8am until 10pm, 7 days a week, as well as Molineux Urgent Treatment Centre which is also open the same time.
Both centres are open 365 days a year including the festive period.
The temporary arrangements have been put in place to address ongoing staffing pressures across the healthcare system and will ensure patients are looked after in a way that best protects their needs during the winter months.
The trust will regularly review these changes and is working hard with other healthcare partners to ensure that NHS staff are in the right services to care
for patients as best we can during these challenging times.
As always, we continue to ask the public to #DoYourBit, so if you have a health need which is not life-threatening, please visit our urgent treatment centres or seek advice first from a pharmacist, your GP or NHS 111.
