A new international partnership has launched which provides access to our hospitals’ world leading teams and facilities to share knowledge and expertise.
The first clinical observers are in place in surgical and women’s services at Newcastle Hospitals as part of a new partnership under our International Clinical Observerships and Fellowships Programme.
The partnership with Beijing based company Good Doctor International (GDI), has been set up by the commercial enterprise team, working closely with our medical staffing team and clinical boards.
It is expected to bring in around 15 to 20 observer placements in the next 12 months, building on our programme which enables observers to experience and learn from our services and teams.
Senior business manager Martin Crosby of the commercial enterprise team, pictured with Nichol MEI, founder and president of GDI, has led the project.
He said: “We are delighted to have secured a new partnership which will enable more doctors from across the globe to access a wealth of clinical and operational expertise across a range of specialties in our hospitals.
“Our observer, fellow and industry placements provide opportunities for clinicians and industry colleagues to work with us to grow their skills and expertise in their chosen field.”
