The chaplaincy team is available to support all staff working across the Trust and provide practical and emotional support.
Staff support sessions
Chaplains are available to provide one to one listening support to staff. Chaplains are not councillors but are happy to help staff reflect on situations or events they are finding difficult, this may be in relation to their work or personal life. Within our team we have trained Mental Health First Aiders and a TRiM manager. Please contact the chaplaincy team by email to arrange a staff support session.
Food support
The Chaplaincy team can refer staff for food at local foodbanks. In partnership with the catering department we are providing ‘Too good to throw’ fridges which can be accessed by staff at the Regent Point, the RVI and the Freeman Hospitals.
Meal cards for the Staff Bistros are available for staff if they do not have funds to eat and drink while at work.
Practical advice
Free and quick access to impartial information and confidential advice is available for our staff through Citizens Advice Gateshead. They hold regular drop in sessions in the hospitals or can also be contacted directly.
Email [email protected] or call 0191 814 4215.
Free sanitary products
Please contact us if you are unable to purchase sanitary products. Products are free of charge and can be discreetly collected by staff from the chaplaincy team.
Small grants
For staff experiencing financial difficulty a hardship fund is available, providing small grants to help in the case of financial emergency. Please contact the team to discuss.
