Ward 35 provides specialist care for patients with all types of solid tumour cancers undergoing specific radioactive treatments including:
- iodine 131(for thyroid cancer)
- gynaecological selectrons
- radioactive jigs and moulds.
You will be cared for by several different members of staff during and after your treatment. These will include cancer doctors, nurses who administer chemotherapy, and support nurses, physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, and other support staff.
Ward visiting times
Monday to Friday 2-4pm and 6-8pm
Saturday and Sunday 2-8pm
Location of ward
Ward 35 is on Level 3 of the Northern Centre for Cancer Care at the Freeman Hospital.
Come through the main entrance for the Northern Centre for Cancer Care. Take the stairs or lift on your left-hand side up to Level 3.
Come out of the lift, turn to your left and continue around the corner to your left.
Walk straight ahead through two sets of double doors where you will find Ward 35.
