Ward 10 in the Great North Children’s Hospital at the RVI is a children’s orthopaedic ward.
We provide care and treatment for young people before and after planned orthopaedic surgery.
We care for patients with a variety of complex needs. Patients are admitted for investigations, as well as for non-surgical treatment, for example traction, physiotherapy and hydrotherapy, and elective surgery.
Treatment can range from day-case and short-stay surgery, to more complex spinal and hip surgery for conditions such as scoliosis, Perthes’ disease, cerebral palsy, spina bifida and congenital dislocation of the hip.
