Ward 31 is the haemodialysis unit which cares for people who have problems with their kidneys and need long-term haemodialysis.
Haemodialysis will take place two or three times a week and this will usually take between three and five hours.
You will be cared for by several members of staff including one of our nephrologists, specialist nurses, renal dieticians and other support staff.
We provide haemodialysis for outpatients and for patients who are in hospital. In addition, haemodiafiltration is available if appropriate for your treatment.
Ward visiting times
- Monday to Friday 2-4pm and 6-8pm
- Saturday and Sunday 2-8pm
Close friends and family members may visit seriously ill patients at any time. However, please discuss this with the ward sister or nurse in charge.
Location of ward
Ward 31 (haemodialysis unit) is based in Renal Services Centre at the Freeman Hospital.
Come through the main entrance of the Northern Centre for Cancer and Renal Services Centre, and you will find yourself in the main atrium of the centre on Level 2 with the main reception desk directly in front of you.
Follow the sign for Ward 31 (Haemodialysis Unit) which is on your left-hand side.
