Hello, my name is Victoria Mulholland and I am a Digital Health Nurse Specialist at the Newcastle Hospitals.
My role is to act as a digital ambassador for my clinical colleagues by using my nursing experience and skills to ensure what is expected of them whilst using the different digital systems is realistic.
I liaise with all members of the digital project team with the aim of reducing digital stresses for staff and making the systems more efficient for staff and ultimately improving the experience for our patients.
My digital journey
My nursing career began in Accident and Emergency down south as a newly qualified Nurse where I stayed for over eight years.
Then after progressing to a Senior Sister role, I moved to Newcastle taking up a position of Nurse Practitioner in the Urgent Treatment Centres where I stayed for 12 years.
I have worked with many different computer systems throughout my career and recognise that giving a voice on how they should work to those who use it day in day out is the most effective and efficient way to ensure everyone has the best possible experience.
I hope to improve the stresses that all healthcare staff experience using a computer in their professional job roles.
