Hello, my name is Chris Bill – I am an Associate Director of Nursing and one of the Chief Nursing Information Officers (CNIO) for the Newcastle Hospitals.
As CNIO I help to support the overall digital maturity of the organisation, acting as the bridge between IT staff and nursing, midwifery and AHP (NMAHP) colleagues.
Digital technology has always been a growing interest for me and I enjoy being able to shape and influence how clinical staff will increasingly use digital healthcare to improve patient safety, clinical practice and more importantly patient experience.
Although a very challenging role it is equally rewarding and I enjoy being at the forefront of health innovation of this outstanding organisation.
Our Digital Health Team
I am proud to lead Newcastle’s Digital NMAHP Health Team who are committed to supporting and guiding our staff to ensure their experience of using our electronic patient record (EPR) is the best it can be.
An overriding priority for the team is to ensure that our NMAHPs’ voices are heard in the digital space and in particular that all enhancements made to our EPR works for them.
To make this a reality it’s really important that we listen to what they have to say and support the development of their ideas.
