Our next Members’ Event will take place on Thursday 9 November between 1.30pm – 4pm, in our newly refurbished Education Centre at the Freeman Hospital.
Newcastle Hospitals undertakes a huge number of research projects every year and each of these holds the possibility of improving the lives of our patients, both here in Newcastle and around the world. But medical research depends on the bravery of volunteers to trial these new ideas, whether that be in the form of a new treatment, an innovative procedure or a different way of working.
During our discussion forum we will hear some examples of the difference research can make, as well as listening to you, our members. Are you someone who has experience of being involved in our research, or is this something you would like to learn more about? Do you have any thoughts on how research could be made more relevant to you? If yes, we would be delighted to have you attend!
We will hear from Jo Noble, Associate Director – Clinical Research who will lead the Discussion Forum along with members of our research team. We will also hear from Fardeen Choudhury, Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Manager, who will provide a summary of feedback from our discussion forum on 27 June, which focussed on members sharing their experiences of living with a disability when accessing healthcare.
The programme is as follows:
