Professor Nicholas J Reynolds is an honorary consultant dermatologist at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary where is specialises in inflammatory chronic skin disease (psoriasis and atopic eczema).
Nick Reynolds is Professor of Dermatology at Newcastle University and Deputy Lead for the Skin and Oral Disease Research theme within the NIHR Newcastle Biomedical Research Centre.

Research
Nick’s current research and clinical interests are focused on psoriasis and atopic eczema, human models of skin disease, systems biology and precision medicine.
In 2016 he was appointed Director of Newcastle’s MRC/EPSRC Molecular Pathology Node, one of six units established in the UK to bring researchers, clinicians and industry together to develop molecular diagnostic tools for personalized medicine which he ran until 2019.
He was the inaugural Chair of UK TREND (Translational Research Network in Dermatology) and is past president of the European Society for Dermatological Research (ESDR).
He is also a member of the Executive Team for The Psoriasis Stratification to Optimise Relevant Therapy (PSORT) consortium – a unique partnership between five UK universities: Manchester, Newcastle, King’s College London, Queen Mary and Liverpool, 10 pharmaceutical and diagnostics companies and the Psoriasis Association and NHS partners representing patients.
