Professor Deborah Tweddle is an Honorary Consultant in Paediatric and Adolescent Oncology at the Great North Children’s Hospital and Professor of Paediatric Oncology at the Newcastle University Centre of Cancer.
Professor Tweddle has a specific interest in childhood neuroblastoma – biological, translational and clinical – which she has specialised in for over 20 years.
As a clinical academic in paediatric oncology, Professor Tweddle spends half of her time at Newcastle University supervising her research team or undertaking duties related to the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia group tissue bank, of which she is the Scientific Director.
Her clinical work takes her to the RVI’s Great North Children’s Hospital to see patients with neuroblastoma either on the ward or day unit.
