Mrs Hannah Fox is an ENT surgeon at Freeman Hospital Newcastle, with a specialist interest in Head & Neck surgery and thyroid surgery.
Biography
Mrs Hannah Fox leads the Newcastle Head and Neck Cancer multidisciplinary team. She specialises in head and neck cancer, thyroid disease (benign and malignant), benign head and neck disease and throat/voice symptoms. She has specialist surgical interests in transoral robotic surgery, thyroid surgery and laryngeal re-innervation. She, with radiology consultant colleagues, has established an outpatient thyroid ablation service, and she offers outpatient local anaesthetic procedures e.g. transnasal oesophagoscopy, laryngeal biopsy, balloon dilation. She (with her head and neck colleagues) offers an urgent neck lump clinic, complimented by radiology-delivered ultrasound in clinic.
Mrs Fox is a keen educator and sits on the BAHNO educational committee and the regional Surgical Training Committee. She has higher qualifications in education and leads a number of courses, including several through the Newcastle Surgical Training Centre (https://nstcsurg.org/). She is keen to promote the role of women in surgery and acts as a mentor at school, undergraduate and postgraduate level.
