Mr Mohamed Badawey is a Consultant of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital where he specialises in rhinology and facial plastics surgery in addition to the snoring surgery.
He is a member of the SAC, the Early years representative on the SAC committee, and an educational supervisor for junior doctors. I am an examiner for the MRCS exam for the RCS of Edinburgh.
Mr Badawey performs 60 Rhinoplasty procedures a year including extracorporeal Septorhinoplasties for tertiary secondary cases in addition to pinnaplasty procedures. He performs nasal valve surgery and snoring surgery.
Mr Badawey’s current rhinology practice also involves the management of patients with advanced sinus disease including frontal sinus pathology, benign tumours of the nasal cavities, fungal Rhinosinusitis and Endoscopic repair of CSF leaks.
His research interests involve the quality of life assessment of patients after septorhinoplasty, nasal valve surgery, and extracorporeal septorhinoplasty. Mr Badawey lead a research project on the study of biofilms in chronic Rhinosinusitis with or without nasal polyposis.
