Mark Johnson is a Consultant Urological Surgeon MD FRCS (Urol) based at Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital.
Mr Johnson spent a short period of time in histopathology before commencing basic surgical training in Leeds. After completing a period of research at Newcastle University into the molecular biology of prostate cancer he completed his higher surgical training in the Northern region.
He has been a consultant urological surgeon since 2004 and has a specialist interest in robotic assisted surgical treatment of prostate and bladder cancers. He is a member of the National Cancer Research Institute’s Bladder Cancer Studies group and has chaired the North of England Cancer Network Urology Tumour Specific Group.
