Mr David Rix graduated from Newcastle University in 1989 and undertook training in urology in the North East. He was appointed as a Consultant Urological Surgeon at the Freeman Hospital in 2003.
He specialises in minimally invasive surgery of the kidney, using the DaVinci robot system, for both cancerous and benign conditions. He has particular expertise in the management of urinary tract stones.
Mr Rix is also part of the Transplant team at Freeman Hospital and performs kidney transplants and kidney donor operations. He is the clinical administrative lead for Newcastle Urology at the Freeman Hospital.
