Mr Brian Carroll is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at the RVI’s Great North Trauma and Emergency Centre specialising in all forms of trauma care and medical emergencies. He also runs a soft tissue injuries clinic.
Mr Carroll’s undergraduate training was at Trinity College Dublin where he graduated in 1994 before moving to the North East of England in 1996 to commence basic surgical training.
He made the transition to Accident and Emergency in 1998 and having worked as a middle grade doctor in Accident and Emergency for several years, he was appointed to a training post in the Northern Deanery in 2007.
Mr Carroll’s CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) was awarded in July 2012 and he commenced as a substantive consultant in the Emergency Department of the University Hospital of North Durham, where he was clinical lead for Trauma Care.
In September of 2014 Mr Carroll commenced work as a Consultant in the Emergency Department at the RVI.
He teaches on Advanced Trauma Life Support courses throughout the region and intends to be a regular examiner for the College of Emergency Medicine.
