Lt. Col Antony Calder is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine at the RVI’s Great North Trauma and Emergency Centre where he specialises in major trauma, major incident planning and Chemical, Biological, Radiation and Nuclear (CBRN) incident management.
Whilst studying Medicine at Queens University, Belfast Mr Calder joined the Royal Army Medical Corps in 1999.
After graduating in 2001 he moved to England and has worked in several regions throughout the country.
His higher specialist training in Emergency Medicine was in the Wessex region, which he completed in 2012, prior to moving to the North East.
As a Military Doctor he have deployed on numerous military operations, providing medical care to both multi-national forces and local civilian populations.
