After graduating from medical school in 2010, Dr Ramanathan undertook specialist training in paediatrics and subsequently, paediatric oncology from the Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi and Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, respectively. He moved to the United Kingdom as a trust doctor in paediatric oncology and bone marrow transplant in 2021, before stepping into the role of a locum consultant in paediatric bone marrow transplant and advanced cellular therapies in leukemias at the Great North Children’s Hospital in October 2023.
