Dr Simon Bomken is an honorary Consultant Paediatric Oncologist at the Great North Children’s Hospital where he specialises in Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, Immune-dysregulatory associated lymphoproliferation and histiocytic disorders. He is also an MRC clinician scientist fellow.
Dr Bomken co-leads the lymphoma research group at the Wolfson Childhood Cancer Research Centre. They study childhood non-Hodgkin lymphomas, from genomics through to pre-clinical modelling.
Dr Bomken also has a clinical and research interest in lymphoproliferations associated with immune-dysregulation, including post-transplant and primary immunodeficiency related LPD. The lab hosts both clinical and non-clinical research students.
He is the current chair of the CCLG non-Hodgkin lymphoma interest group and sits on NCRI childhood NHL and lymphoma biology groups.
Dr Bomken is also a member of EICNHL, iBFM and SIOPe and contribute to several international studies of childhood NHL.
