Dr Paul Dorman is a Consultant Neurologist at the RVI’s Neurosciences Centre where he specialises in headache problems, transient ischaemic attack (TIA) and stroke neurology, and epilepsy.
Dr Dorman was appointed as a consultant neurologist at the Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI) in 2000 and has a longstanding interest in chronic headache disorders. He completed a visiting Professorship programme at the world renowned Jefferson Headache Clinic in Philadelphia and subsequently founded a specialist headache service for patients in the North East at the RVI.
Dr Dorman has introduced a variety of new headache interventions into neurological use in Newcastle including cranial nerve blocks and Botox injections. He has also established a multidisciplinary headache/oro-facial pain clinic with colleagues at Newcastle Dental School.
Dr Dorman is the clinical lead for the TIA (mini-stroke) service at the RVI and has established the epilepsy service at the University Hospital of North Durham.
