Dr Lane graduated from Newcastle University in 2010 and undertook his postgraduate training throughout hospitals in the North East. He has a keen interest in teaching and has undertaken postgraduate teaching qualifications through Newcastle University. He completed his PhD on outcomes from acute non-invasive ventilation in patients with COPD in 2021. He is a committee member for the North of England Thoracic Society.
Dr Lane has expertise in the management of patients with respiratory disease, in particular chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, non-invasive ventilation (NIV), and home ventilation.
He has research interests and publications in the areas of COPD, non-invasive ventilation, and quality of life.
