Dr Michal Malina is a Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist at the RVI’s Great North Children’s Hospital where he specialises in atypical haemolytic-uraemic syndrome and peritoneal dialysis.
Research
Dr Malina’s main research interest is in the area of rare diseases of the kidney and their therapies. He combines working for the Great North Children’s Hospital‘s Kidney team and the National Renal Complement Centre Therapeutics Centre that provides nationwide guidance for atypical HUS and eculizumab treatment.
Dr Malina is the lead of the peritoneal dialysis mini-team in Newcastle and a member of the haemodialysis mini-team.
