Dr Mel Gunn is a consultant gastroenterologist at the Newcastle Hospitals and specialises in therapeutic endoscopy (with involvement of local JAG accredited courses), complex GI bleeding and iron deficiency anaemia.
She graduated at Leicester Medical school in 1992 and completed specialty training in gastroenterology in the North East of England.
Dr Gunn has a clinical interest in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) with sub-specialisation in obstetric IBD (during pregnancy – she is an active member of the National IBD Obstetric working group.
