Dr Kevin Brennan is a consultant in anaesthesia and intensive care and clinical director for cardiothoracic services.
Biography
Dr Kevin Brennan was educated at Queen’s University, Belfast and trained in Belfast, Leicester and Newcastle upon Tyne.
He was appointed as a consultant in cardiothoracic anaesthesia and intensive care at Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital in 2002. Kevin has been clinical lead for the cardiothoracic intensive care unit since 2005 and clinical director of cardiothoracic services since 2019.
Dr Brennan’s interests include heart and lung transplantation, ECMO, mechanical support for the failing heart and minimally invasive cardiac surgery.
He is a member of the Intensive Care Society and the Association of Cardiothoracic Anaesthetists.
