Dr Katie Blasdale is a consultant dermatologist who provides general dermatology services, and also specialises in skin cancer care, and care of the skin in immunosuppressed patients.
She provides clinics at Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary and outreach in Cramlington and North Tyneside General Hospital.
Dr Blasdale qualified from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1988. After junior doctor training in Glasgow and Liverpool she began specialist training in Dermatology in Newcastle in 1998.
She was a consultant dermatologist in Sunderland from 2005 until she joined Newcastle’s Dermatology team at the RVI in 2012.
Special interests
Dr Blasdale has a special interest in skin cancer, including melanoma and is a core member of the Specialist Skin Cancer MDT. She also runs clinics to provide care of the skin in those who are immunosuppressed following solid organ transplant.
