Dr Jane Noble was appointed a Consultant Geriatrician and Physician in Newcastle in 2004.
Dr Noble qualified from Cambridge and Oxford Universities in 1992, and conducted most of her clinical training in the North East. She was awarded a PhD into ageing changes in cell membrane dynamics in 2000, supported by a Medical Research Council Clinical Training Fellowship.
Dr Noble’s clinical interests are in looking after older people in hospital, day unit and community settings, and in Parkinson’s Disease and related Movement Disorders. She manages patients on an in-patient ward at Freeman Hospital, reviews people living in care homes and at home in the community, and runs a weekly Movement Disorder clinic.
Dr Noble is currently Head of Department of Older People’s Medicine and is delighted to be involved in many exciting service developments, both within and outside the hospital setting. This is a vibrant department which aims to provide outstanding patient care, with a strong emphasis on supportive team working across our nursing, therapy and junior medical teams, and ongoing and innovative quality improvement.
