Dr Geoff Hide qualified in medicine from the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 1990 and trained in general medicine (gaining MRCP in 1993) and radiology (gaining FRCR in 1997). After a Cook Fellowship training in vertebroplasty in Strasbourg, he was appointed consultant radiologist in Newcastle in 2002, with a special interest in musculoskeletal imaging.
Dr Hide is the lead radiologist for the bone and soft tissue tumour service. He gives frequent local, national and international lectures, has numerous publications in musculoskeletal journals and is an assistant editor for the journal Clinical Radiology.
He is also currently the secretary of the British Society of Skeletal Radiologists and has acted as an advisor to NICE and the Department of Health.
