Dr Fiona McDonald is a Consultant Clinical Oncologist at the Freeman Hospital’s Northern Centre for Cancer Care specialising in lung and colorectal cancer.
Dr McDonald qualified from Dundee University in 1990 and carried out her training in oncology in Edinburgh, completing an MSc in Clinical Oncology, and then in Newcastle where she was appointed as a Consultant at NCCC in 2002.
Dr McDonald actively participates in clinical research and she is principal investigator and co-investigator for several trials. She is a member of ASCO.
She also has a keen interest in training, is the directorate lead for medical training and education, and lead for oncology advanced clinical practitioner training.
