Dr Eman Hafez joined Newcastle Hospitals as a Consultant Radiologist in 2017. Dr Hafez trained in the Middle-East, where she obtained my Master’s degree in Radiology for which she submitted a thesis about MRI Spectroscopy. She worked in one of the cancer centres in the Middle-East for four years before moving to the UK.
Dr Hafez joined the RVI to specialise in breast and general radiology including oncology (cancer) imaging.
In the Breast Screening unit Dr Hafez works as part of the National Breast Screening System to interpret mammograms and assess ladies after they have had a screening mammogram.
She also scans in one-stop-breast clinics, reports breast MRIs and performs interventional breast procedures and MRI guided biopsy.
In the main radiology unit Dr Hafez reports acute CT and oncology imaging. She is also a member of the gynaecology and cancers of unknown primary multidisciplinary team.
Teaching
A member of the Royal College of Radiology, European Society of Radiology and the British Society of Breast Imaging, Dr Hafez is actively involved in auditing and teaching speciality registrars and medical students.
