Dr Chris Mountford is a Consultant Gastroenterologist and General Physician at the Newcastle Hospsitals.
Originally from Birmingham Dr Mountford has lived, studied and worked in the North East since 1998. He completed his MBBS at Newcastle University in 2003, has completed all of his specialty training in the region and was appointed as a Consultant in Newcastle in March 2014.
Dr Mountford has a specialist interest in clinical nutrition, in particular Home Parenteral Nutrition support. He is part of the Newcastle Inflammatory Bowel disease service and is also an accredited Bowel Cancer Screening Colonoscopist.
Dr Mountford is a Course Director for JAG Colonoscopy training courses run within the Newcastle Hospitals. His postgraduate qualifications include an MSc in Nutritional Medicine (Distinction, University of Surrey) as well as Postgraduate Certificates in Medical Education (Newcastle University) and Palliative Care (Teesside University).
