Dr Charlotte Goodhead is a Dermatologist at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle, where she specialises in Paediatric Dermatology, Skin cancer and General dermatology.
Dr Goodhead currently holds the position of head of department for dermatology, having previously been lead for audit and governance as well as antimicrobial steward.
She graduated from Newcastle University Medical school in 2007, before completing postgraduate training locally and joining the specialist dermatology register in January 2018.
Special interests
Dr Goodhead works within the general and paediatric dermatology teams and provides general and urgent dermatology clinics as well as specialist clinics in Paediatric dermatology, Joint clinics in paediatric dermatology/ rheumatology, Joint paediatric dermatology/ allergy, Basal cell carcinoma as well as epidermolysis bullosa. She was involved in the development of the ‘My skin selfie’ mobile phone app which greatly advanced local digital skin cancer triage and continues to work within digital skin cancer assessment.
Research
Dr Goodhead has contributed to multiple publications, as well as four research projects being principle investigator for one looking at atopic eczema and resource use in young people. She has provided care for patients accessing newly approved medications through early access schemes and contributes data to the UK and Irish Atopic Eczema Systemic Therapy Register (ASTAR)
