Dr Bridget Griffiths has been a Consultant Rheumatologist at Newcastle’s Freeman Hospital since 2001, specialising in autoimmune connective tissue diseases and vasculitis, particularly SLE, systemic sclerosis, interstitial lung disease (ILD) and pulmonary hypertension in rheumatological conditions.
Dr Griffiths is the clinical lead for the regional specialised rheumatology service in Newcastle which includes the management of over 2000 patients with autoimmune connective tissue diseases and vasculitis.
In 2016 she was appointed by NHS England to be Chair of the specialised rheumatology clinical reference group.
