Dr Amar Ajay Chotai is a Consultant Interventional and Diagnostic Neuroradiologist based at the RVI’s Neurosciences centre, where he specialises in the treatment of intracranial aneurysms, vascular malformations, tumours, stroke and CSF leaks.
Dr Chotai qualified with distinction from Guy’s, King’s and St. Thomas’ School of Medicine in 2012 and completed his FRCR in 2018. He was appointed as a Consultant in Newcastle in January 2021, after completing a 3-year fellowship at the RVI. He has also obtained the European Diploma in Neuroradiology (EDiNR) through the ESNR in 2023.
Dr Chotai works closely with stroke physicians, neurosurgeons, neurologists and neuroradiologists, and is involved in weekly stroke and neurovascular MDTs, as well as having a dedicated INR clinic monthly.
He has published several papers and is a keen educator, teaching and lecturing at both national and international courses.
