Dr Ahmed Jaafar is a Consultant Physician in Older People’s Medicine specialising in frailty, falls and syncope, osteoporosis and nutrition. His main aim in practice is the prevention and treatment of diseases, and the promotion of health and independence in older people.
Dr Jaafar graduated from Baghdad University in 1997, started training in the UK in 2000 and completed specialist training in general and geriatric medicine in 2009.
As well as working as a consultant, Dr Jaafar is the lead for teaching, and the organiser for medical ground round meetings on the Assessment Suite, as well as an Associate Clinical Lecturer with Newcastle University.
