To ensure the future of our services, it is important that we continue to invest, and we are currently looking at a major estates development.
Continued investment in our estate and facilities is a key component of the delivery of safe, high-quality care and we have set out a major, ten-year programme of strategic estate improvements.
At the moment some of our most complex and specialist services, are provided from ageing buildings that do not meet the standards that we would expect. Many need costly upgrades and maintenance while other facilities need to be replaced or fully refurbished.
Investing in these services will enable us to continue to provide specialist clinical care of the highest quality to the people of Newcastle, the North East and beyond in a resilient and sustainable way, and future proof these services. The proposed developments will also enable the Trust’s recovery plan from the COVID-19 pandemic.
