Mr Hugh Gallagher is a consultant laparoscopic and colorectal surgeon in Newcastle.
Mr Gallagher has a strong educational profile running national and international courses in colorectal, trauma and abdominal reconstructive surgery. He has provided one of the RCS(Eng) sponsored laparoscopic rectal cancer surgery fellowships for the last 10 years.
Recent projects have included convening the world’s first biological reconstruction course, running tri-annual European hernia training courses, organising the BAPS approved national paediatric trauma training course and providing tri-annual adult ACTS cadaveric trauma courses.
