Dr Jen Townshend is a consultant paediatric respiratory physician at the Great North Children’s Hospital.
Dr Townshend trained in the North East of England and New Zealand and undertook a one year Paediatric Respiratory Fellowship in Vancouver, Canada in 2009. She looks after a variety of long term paediatric respiratory conditions and is part of the regional cystic fibrosis service.
Dr Townshend leads on secondary care children’s asthma at the Great North Children’s Hospital and has been involved in standardising children’s asthma care across the region. Dr Townshend also contributes to the delivery of care for general paediatric emergencies on the Paediatric Assessment Unit.
